When you’re thinking about planning a bit of a bash for friends and family, what’s the first venue that springs to mind? Champagne cocktails in a dimly lit bar... a rooftop party at one of London’s top venues... or a slightly damp and not very well heated prison in mid-November?

Well, once we’d had a giggle at the #DoingTime hashtag that we could justify with the latter option, there was really no contest!

Never ones to be scared of a challenge, we set about turning Her Royal Majesty’s disused prison in our home town of Shrewsbury into a venue worthy of asking our friends, families, local creatives and entrepreneurs to come and spend an evening with us.

On the big night four landings of prison cells were unlocked for guests to explore with a glass of fizz in hand, along with a pop-up shop of Newgate clocks and watches, and authentic prison riot gear and inmate uniforms for the #DoingTime selfie photo booth.

In case you've ever wondered how we would look in prison stripes, you can experience the full lockdown event here: Party at the Prison
